Professor Yoki Miyazaki is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. Born and raised in Tokyo, he received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2020 and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech before joining Rutgers. He is a planetary geophysicist interested in how planets develop habitable surface environments. Using theoretical and numerical models, his research explores the deep interiors of planets, including magma oceans and the release of volatile elements that forms atmospheres and oceans.
