Congratulations to Brittney Srags SAS '25, who was admitted to the competitive Rutgers Bachelors/JD Dual Degree Program which offers highly qualified students the opportunity to complete both degrees within a six-year period, as opposed to seven years.
From Manalapan, New Jersey, Brittney offered her reflections on the past two years at Rutgers and what prepared her in applying to and being accepted into the program.
As an SAS honors program student pursuing a major in Sociology, "I devoted immense time and energy to studying and working closely with some of my professors to develop my skills and knowledge. Also, I worked to maintain a high GPA. The program is open to undergraduate Rutgers students who have demonstrated a certain level of academic achievement, as well as being involved in extracurricular activities. Thus, I always strive to maintain balance between my academic work, as well as maintaining connection to the student community through clubs and activities, such as the Rutgers Pre Law Society and the Honors Peer Mentor Program. Since admission to law school also depends on the LSAT score, studying for the test was a part of my weekly schedule. I have acquired so much knowledge and developed my academic and interpersonal skills as a result of being a student in Rutgers University for the past three years and I look forward to continued success as a law student. "
"My advice for prospective students is to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by Rutgers during the first three years. I have been able to learn so much from my professors and I have participated in events that have allowed me to learn more about my career path."
