Join us for an Honors Alumni Q&A with medical student Julia Sorkin SAS'23 as she shares her journey from Rutgers to medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College with a gap year. Julia graduated with a double major in Genetics and Russian and is currently a second year medical student.
Before starting medical school, Julia took a gap year working as a MA, researching, and traveling.
At SKMC, Julia serves on the admissions committee, interviewing applicants and working directly with the admissions deans, teaching science in North Philly, and leading refugee health initiatives.
Outside of school, Julia has her own medical school admissions consulting business, having worked with over 150 students admitted to MD/DO programs! Julia will discuss how to make the most of your Rutgers experience, insights to the application process, gap year(s), and life in/outside of medical school.
